UPDATE: Rain Barrel Workshops coming up in September, October

UPDATE, Aug. 20: To accommodate interest from the community, an additional rain barrel workshop has been added on Oct. 4 from 8:45-10 a.m. The Aug. 23 workshop is full, but openings are still available for the Sept. 13, Sept. 20 and Oct. 4 workshops.
Those interesting in participating are invited to register ahead of time online.
Aug. 14: AUBURN, Ala.- Community members are invited to attend one of three upcoming rain barrel workshops, promoting sustainable water use and stormwater management. The free workshops will be held on Aug. 23, Sept. 13 and Sept. 20 from 8:45-10 a.m. at the Nunn-Winston House at Kiesel Park (520 Chadwick Lane).
Attendees will receive a free rain barrel to collect and reuse rainwater at home along with tips on how to install, maintain and troubleshoot potential issues with their new reservoir. They will also learn about the benefits of rainwater harvesting, including:
- Conserving water and reducing reliance on City water sources.
- Reducing stormwater runoff, which can prevent soil erosion and limit the amount of pollutants that reach our local waterways.
